March is National Nutrition Month, so let’s compete in a new kind of challenge, UAMS!

#justtryoneuams Challenge

The first challenge is for all of us to try a new vegetable or fruit each week and post a photo of it on our social media. Participants will need to tag one of our Get Healthy UAMS accounts on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #justtryoneuams. Involve your friends and family and show us the new healthy choice you tried here on campus or elsewhere. Even cooking a vegetable in a new healthier way counts. Participants will be entered for a drawing for some UAMS swag!

Calling all chefs!

The Nutrition Department will have a plant-based entrée contest in March. Submit your favorite plant-based entrée recipe to gethealthy@uams.edu to enter. The winner’s dish will be featured on the main line in the cafeteria on the last week of March and could find its way into our chef’s recipe staples! Submit your entry by March 15.

The Blue and You Fitness Challenge has begun!

Don’t forget to log your activity on the website and encourage those around you as well.

Check out the new National Nutrition Month display in front of the elevators by the cafeteria “Portion Control — It’s in Your Hands!” and the new display by Metro Deli on how to add more fruits and veggies to your diet!
