Arkansas Employee Assistance Program

Everyone has problems at one time or another. Problems, like people, come in all sizes, types, intensities, and can come at any time. Problems Employee Servicessometimes start small, but can grow and spread to other areas of a person’s life, threatening a marriage, a career or both. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) consultation service provides assessment, short-term counseling, information and referral (if indicated) for employees (including their spouses and dependents) who experience some form of personal distress. Services are confidential.


Student Wellness

Students StudyingThe mission of the UAMS Student Wellness Program (SWP) is to promote Wellness in our students by providing the necessary tools and support to help them maintain balance in their lives and thus achieve their full professional and personal potential.  The SWP provides two kinds of services to address this goal: Clinical Services and Outreach Services.



Resident Wellness

The transition from being a medical student to a resident physician is exhilarating and exciting! Doctor with StethoscopeHowever, residency can also be a daunting and challenging time because of the long hours, sleepless nights, adaptation to a new role and environment, and the responsibility for providing high-quality care for our patients. Unless we take care of ourselves, the demands of residency can take a toll on our well-being with increased stress, fatigue, burnout, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship and other emotional problems. The goal of the resident wellness website is to provide information about resources to promote resident well-being.

Faculty Wellness

Woman looking at a computerLaunched in March, 2006, the Faculty Wellness Program supports the overall professional health and vitality of all our faculty.  Wellness is defined as an intentional, self-directed process of achieving a state where faculty personally and professionally flourish.  Wellness can include five different domains—physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social.  To truly flourish,  self-awareness of your needs in all areas and intentional changes to promote your own wellness is needed.

Student Life

UAMS Campus Life and Student Support Services, Get involved!

UAMS Campus Life provides campus housing for students and guests of UAMS, plans and organizes intercollegiate activities for students and oversees and coordinates the student government association, intramural sports program, and student insurance.
